SEU Welcomes Summer 2025 Freshers

Southeast University (SEU) warmly welcomed newly admitted students of the Summer 2025 Semester through a two-day Freshers’ Reception and Orientation Program held on 2 and 3 July 2025 at the university’s Multipurpose Hall.

The Orientation Program consisted of four separate sessions, organized by SEU’s academic schools to greet and guide students from various departments as they embark on their academic journey.

On 2 July 2025, the first session was hosted by the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), welcoming students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). Mr. Mohammad Manjur Mahmud, President of DataSoft Systems Bangladesh Limited, attended as the Chief Guest and shared valuable insights on the future of the tech industry.

In the second session on the same day, SSE welcomed students from the Departments of Architecture, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), and Textile Engineering. The session was graced by Engr. Mohiuddin Ahmed (Selim), Chairman of the Textile Engineering Division, The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest.

On 3 July 2025, the third session featured the School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS), which welcomed students from the Departments of Economics, English, and Bangla. The Chief Guest for the session was Professor Baziul Haque Khondker from the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka, and Chairman of SANEM.

Later that day, in the final session, the Southeast Business School (SBS) welcomed students enrolled in its BBA and MBA programs. The session featured Md. Mahbubur Rahman, FCA, Additional Managing Director & CFO of City Bank PLC, as the Chief Guest. He encouraged students to embrace innovation and leadership in the field of business.

All sessions were presided over by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University. Prof. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Maj Gen Md Anwarul Islam, SUP, ndu, psc (Retd), Registrar, also addressed the students, along with the respective Deans and Department Chairs.

The programs aimed to introduce students to SEU’s academic environment, institutional values, and available resources—marking the beginning of a vibrant and enriching university experience.
