
Bangladeshi Students Excel at International NextGen Olympiad Immersion Program
Bangladeshi students emerged as frontrunners at the ‘’International NextGen Olympiad Immersion Program’’, held from July 17 to 21, 2025, at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand — bringing immense pride to the nation.
This prestigious five-day intergenerational program was organized by GEIST International Foundation in collaboration with AIT which brought together students, educators, academics, and researchers from around the world. Delegates from Vietnam, Nepal, India, the Philippines, the UAE, Myanmar, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Thailand shared their stories, research, innovations, and lived experiences — all highlighting the transformative power of education to inspire systemic change.
The summit featured a wide range of academic and cultural activities, including research paper presentations on Artificial Intelligence, climate and environmental concerns, STEM-based project exhibitions, wall magazine displays, video sessions on the SDG charters, Olympiad, Poster presentation, Art of problem solving, Grammar Relay Race, Spelling Bee, Wall magazine, Poetry Recitation and Extempore speech on Global issues and tours. The events not only highlighted technological advancements in education but also underscored the need for environmental awareness through interdisciplinary learning.
The participating young learners from grade 3-12 [four categories] took part in the selective activities. Representing Bangladesh, students from Grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-10 made outstanding performances across a wide range of rigorous academic and creative challenges.
Team Bangladesh have earned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place competing in multiple categories, showcasing their intellectual prowess, creativity, and collaborative mindset. The students proved themselves as the real contenders demonstrating their talent, intellectuality and skill in almost all the categories of the competitions including Art of problem solving, Grammar Relay Race, Spelling Bee, Wall magazine, Poetry Recitation and Extempore speech on Global issues.

Ms. Sania , a mentor of Bangladeshi students who is also a teacher of "Jahanara Israil School & College (JISC), Barisal said, Embracing global curricula and fostering partnership-driven learning pathways significantly enriches the educational experience for both students and educators. The knowledge, insights, and intercultural exposure gained through such global engagements add profound depth to both academic and personal journeys.
"The students' achievements not only exemplify individual excellence but also underline the nation’s growing stature on global academic platforms." She noted.
Suhana Ahsan Subha, a standout participant in the poster presentation and a Grade 4 student at the same school, remarked, ‘’participating in the Olympiad is a beautiful blend of learning, discovery and cultural exchange. It has a great importance of forward-looking education in a world of dizzying change.’’
Samira Jahan, a champion participant in both the Art of problem solving and Poster presentation and segments and an 11 grader at Siddheswari Girls’ College, Dhaka, said, “It’s an incredible opportunity to join the International Olympiad. This collaborative journey will undoubtedly enhance our soft skills and prepare us to become global citizens—an essential step toward taking care of the planet and thriving in today’s interconnected job industries.”
The Thailand chapter concluded meaningfully with an award ceremony and cultural programme featuring performances from Nepal, Vietnam and Bangladesh. This closing event, held in a celebratory and inclusive atmosphere at the AIT Conference Center, Bangkok, was a fitting end to a remarkable journey.
