‘Presentation Champs: Season II’ held at UIU

The English Language Forum (ELF) a wing of Directorate of Career Counseling & Student Affairs (DCCSA), United International University (UIU) organized a competition titled ‘Presentation Champs: Season II’. 

The grand finale and prize-giving ceremony of the competition was held yesterday at UIU campus, Madani Avenue, United City, Dhaka. This inter-university competition, aimed at showcasing the presentation skills of students, featured a thrilling display of talent and innovation.

A total of 92 teams from 18 of the country’s leading universities (including UIU, NSU, EWU, ULAB, and AIUB) participated in the preliminary round of the competition. The top 8 finalist teams battled it out in the Pecha-Kucha format, where each team had exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds to present 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. The format tested their abilities to convey impactful stories through concise messaging and dynamic visuals. The judging criteria included time management, creativity, and audience engagement.

Out of 8 teams, the grand champion title went to the team “The Team without a Name” from United International University (UIU), who won a prize of 25,000 BDT. Team “Team Red Marked” from East West University (EWU) emerged as the 1st runners-up, taking home 15,000 BDT, and “Ki Dewa Jiee” from North South University (NSU) secured the 2nd runners-up position with a prize of 10,000 BDT. 

Each team was given a trophy by our honorable Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor, United International University as a token of appreciation for showcasing their skills.

The esteemed panel of judges included Prof. Dr. Salma Karim, Director, BBA Program, SOBE, UIU; Dr. Suman Ahmmed, Head, Dept. of CSE, UIU; Dr. Shantanu Kumar Saha, Head, Dept. of EDS, UIU; Mr. Mohammad Aman Ullah, Founder and Chief Organizer of the English Olympiad; Ms. Kirsten Gudgeon, Lecturer, Dept. of English, UIU and Ms. Ummay Sumaiya Mutiatur Rasul, Head of Communications, UIU.

The faculty members, officials, participants, students and other distinguished guests were present in the program.
