UIU hosts discussion and Dua Mahfil on July 2024 Uprising
United International University (UIU) organized a discussion program to commemorate the July 2024 Uprising and a ‘Dua Mahfil’ in memory of Shaheed Irfan Bhuiyan a student of UIU and all the martyrs in July 2024 on 26 July 2025 (Saturday) at 2:30 PM at UIU Campus.
Prof. A. S. M. Salahuddin, Vice Chancellor (In-charge), UIU presided over the July Commemoration Discussion program and the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Md. Zulfiqur Rahman, Registrar of UIU. Among others Prof. Dr. Salma Karim, Director of BBA Program, UIU and Dr. Suman Ahmed, Head of the CSE Department, UIU spoke in the program. Mr. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, father of Shaheed Irfan Bhuiyan, delivered a speech on behalf of the martyred family in the July 2024 mass uprising.
Speakers highlighted the significance of the July uprising as a watershed moment in Bangladesh's fight for justice and democracy. They called on future generations to continue defending people's rights and democratic ideals. A video documentary commemorating July 2024 was screened at the program.
After the discussion, a Dua Mahfil was held to pray for the souls of the martyrs of the 2024 mass uprising. The martyrs of the 2024 mass uprising requests were prayed for the forgiveness of the souls including Irfan Bhuiyan, a student of UIU and for the speedy recovery of the injured people.
The Faculty members, officials, students, guardians and other distinguished guests were present in the program.
