UIU Students’ Industry Visit to Microsoft

UIU APP Forum, a wing of Career Counseling Center (CCC) of United International University (UIU) organized an industry visit to Microsoft office in Bangladesh yesterday. 

The industry visit was organized to encourage academia-industry linkage and provide students with real insight into future technologies. 

A total of 23 students from Dept. of CSE, Dept. of Data Science, BASIS Students' Forum UIU Chapter and UIU Advanced Underwater Robotics & Automation (UIU AURA) crew visited the Microsoft office in Bangladesh.

Mr. Md. Yousup Faruqu, Managing Director & Country Director, Microsoft Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, discussed long-term impacts of AI on businesses and jobs and identified opportunities in AI agent development, MLOps, and AI governance. 
Mis. Farzana Afrin Tisha Cloud Data & AI Security Lead showcased Microsoft's 360° platform, including Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI, and enterprise security solutions. Opportunities like the Microsoft Imagine Cup and the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub were also envisioned by the students.

This visit will play an important role in providing students with practical knowledge of industry work and entrepreneurship in addition to their academic studies. It will also pave the way for collaboration between academia and industry.
