
BDT 7,50,000 Pre-Seed Fund Given to Rising Start-Ups in LAUNCHPAD BY UIHP@UIU
Launchpad by UIHP@UIU - a flagship initiative by United International University (UIU) and Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) Project, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) celebrated the finale contest for 2nd Cycle 2025 at UIU Campus yesterday.
The event marked the culmination of three months of intensive training, mentorship, and innovation by 23 teams from three UIU innovation cohorts, who were guided through the fundamentals of entrepreneurship — from idea validation and business model design to financial management and investor pitching.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the DEIED Project, Professor Dr. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, Director - IRIIC, UIU, and Focal Point of UIU Innovation Hub, members of the jury panel, and mentors from the Innovation cohorts. Professor Dr. Mamun emphasized UIU’s ongoing commitment to supporting young innovators through structured mentorship and state-of-the-art facilities, reinforcing the university’s role as a key partner in the national startup ecosystem.
The jury members for the finale were - Mr. Abdullah Al Mamun from DEIED, Dr. Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun from UIU, Mr. Md Nizamul Alam, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and Mr. Md. Mahabul Alam, Assistant Project Director (Acting), DEIED, BHTPA. Their presence reflected the strong collaboration between government, academia, and industry in advancing Bangladesh’s innovation-driven economy.
BDT 7,50,000 (Seven Lac Fifty Thousand Bangladeshi Taka) pre-seed money was distributed as pre-seed fund among the teams in the finale based on the merit of the idea, business feasibility, market positioning, and team coherence.
Champion in the Innovation cohort 4 was Growbrandly, receiving BDT 45,000 as pre-seed fund for their Interactive Gamification Platform for Marketing activities, and from Innovation Cohort 5, the champion was NeuroPilot - an EEG-based concentration tracking solution for EdTech, which received a whooping BDT 80,000 as pre-seed fund for their groundbreaking invention. Innovation Cohort 6 saw true camaraderie and thus, in a twist of fate, had two champions emerging for their dedication to tech entrepreneurship, receiving BDT 60,000 each as pre-seed fund. The champions are - Spendo AI, a team hailing from UIU, which focuses on an AI-driven accounting and financial management solution portal, and Team Aldians from UITS for their project called TERRANOVA - an AI-driven real estate property portal. The Award giving ceremony was convened by Mr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Project Management Specialist, DEIED, BHTPA.
Beyond recognition, the awarded pre-seed grants provide essential early-stage funding for promising startups, ensuring that innovation does not stop at ideation but moves forward to tangible, scalable impact. The program also showcases UIU’s commitment to nurturing innovation for quality education and a sustainable economy prepared for a tech-enabled future.
