Research & Innovation Week held at UIU

United International University (UIU) successfully concluded its flagship “Research & Innovation (R&I) Week 2025”, a four-day signature program designed to foster strong collaboration between academia and industry yesterday.

The event brought together leading academics, industry professionals, and enthusiastic students to exchange knowledge, present research, and explore innovations with real-world impact.

The week began with an inspiring opening ceremony led by Prof. Dr. Hasan Sarwar, Dean of the School of Science & Engineering (SoSE), setting the tone for a diverse program that featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, research presentations, and a student poster competition.

Throughout the week, distinguished speakers and industry leaders shared their expertise on critical topics, ranging from cybersecurity and semiconductor innovation to digital healthcare, storytelling with artificial intelligence, advanced coatings for sustainability, and next-generation business skills.

In the social sciences track, discussions explored education research, the media’s role in achieving the SDGs, and humanitarian fund management, while the life sciences sessions highlighted microbial genomics, pharmaceutical innovations, and interdisciplinary research combining biotechnology with artificial intelligence.

Prominent institutions and industry leaders joined hands with UIU during the week, including Cefalo Bangladesh, Ulkasemi, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, ACME Laboratories, Incepta Pharmaceuticals, Sajida Foundation, Eskimi, Bengal Meat, Inspira Advisory, Grameen Digital Healthcare, and ICDDRB.

Senior officials from the organisations discussed emerging trends, including cybersecurity, semiconductor needs, digital healthcare, sustainable coatings, AI-driven business strategies, microbial genomics, pharmaceutical research and humanitarian fund management.

A highlight of the closing session was the Scientific Poster Presentation Awards Ceremony, where Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mazid, Vice Chancellor of Jashore University of Science & Technology (JUST), formally declared the completion of the R&I Week by awarding the best student teams. The posters were evaluated by distinguished guests and faculty members, with top teams awarded for their creativity, rigor and impact.

Speaking at the closing session, faculty leaders emphasized that UIU is a platform where ideas meet execution and students gain exposure to the demands of industry and society.

The Head of Departments, Directors, Faculty Members, Researchers, Officials and Students among others were present in the program.
