The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of BRAC University, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and technology strategy consultant Digital Bridge Partners signed a memorandum of understanding recently to establish a strategic research partnership under the ministry’s “Research-to-Market Strategy”.

The collaboration aims to foster applied research that translates into market-ready innovations and national platforms and bridge academic research, technology development, and policy supervision under the ministry’s strategic guidance.

It also seeks to develop pilot projects and AI-enabled systems addressing national priorities such as climate resilience, industrial transformation, and data-driven governance.

Moreover, it aims to enable knowledge transfers, technical capacity building, and co-funding opportunities among academia, government, and international partners.

This deal marks a significant step toward advancing Bangladesh’s innovation ecosystem through collaborative research, technology-driven policy support, and global knowledge exchange.

It also enables BRAC University to make progress towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 13 (Climate Action), 16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The signing ceremony was held on the ministry premises in Bangladesh Secretariat on 14 October 2025.

Secretary to the ministry Md Anwar Hossain, Additional Secretary Abu Sayed Md Kamruzzaman, Joint Secretaries Mohammad Iftekhar Hossain and Md Saroar Hossain, and Deputy Secretary Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan attended the event.
