Malibari union of Sadar upazila declared as Eco- Friendly union

Malibari union under Sadar upazila in the district had been declared as Eco- Friendly union through active participation of all walks of life of the union.
 
In this regard, a function was also held on the prenmises of the union parishad (UP) on Sunday noon, with UP chairman Soyeb Mohammad Russel in the chair.
 
A rea program officer of World Vision Bangladesh, an international Christian, relief, development and advocacy organization arranged the function in cooperation with the UP.

Uttom B. Das area program officer of the organization here attended the function as the chief guest and sub assistant agriculture officer of the department of agricultural extension of the union spoke at the event as the special guest. 

Later, UP Chairman Soyeb Mohammad Russel formally declared the union as eco-friendly one in presence of all.

He also thanked the organization to perform different welfare activities including distribution of a large number of saplings of wood, fruit bearing and medicinal trees, environment friendly improved ovens, solar panel to the community level of the union side by side with setting up collection centers in the intersection of the roads to keep used and abandoned polythene there for turning the union into eco-friendly one.
 
He also urged the community people to hold the position of the union as eco-friendly one forever.
 
A large number of people from all  walks of life, local elite, invited persons, staff of the organization and journalists took part in the function.
