Southeast University Hosts Workshop on Supply Chain Mindset

To prepare students for the modern workplace, Southeast University (SEU) organized a workshop titled “Supply Chain Mindset in Education and Society Loss” on 28 August.

The event was held at the university’s Multipurpose Hall, where the keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University and an expert in Supply Chain Management. Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University, presided over the workshop.

In his speech, Dr. Shams Rahman emphasized viewing the education system as a supply chain model. He stated that adopting strategic planning at every stage—from curriculum development to skill enhancement—can make the process more effective and employment-oriented for students. He further noted that through this approach, universities would be able to efficiently supply a workforce that is truly “job-ready.”

In his presidential address, Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam highlighted the urgent need to restructure teaching methods and courses in line with the demands of today’s job market. Emphasizing the importance of teachers’ ethics, he remarked that students gain invaluable lessons from the behavior and conduct of their teachers.

The workshop was attended by the University Registrar, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and administrative officials. This initiative reflects Southeast University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and research, as well as to preparing students to face the challenges of the 21st century.
