
Speakers in a function here yesterday underscored the need for expanding technical education at larger scale as the technical education plays vital role in human resource development of the country through creating skilled manpower and improving the quality of life. “Technical education encourages self-learning and independence. Technical education creates more and more employment opportunities. If someone gets educated in this field, he can work with a company or individual without having a jobless problem”. They made the comment while addressing aTtalent Fair in expansion of skill base Technical Education at the hall room of Gaibandha Technical Training Center (TTC) at Farazipara under Kholahati union of Sadar upazila in the district on Monday. Gaibandha TTC arranged the fair aimed at popularizing the technical education to the people particularly the youths of the country side by side with briefing the importance of technical education to face the 21st century of the modern word”. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and Sadar UNO Rafiul Alam spoke at the event as the special guest. Presided over by engineer Abdur Rahim, principal of GTTC the function was also addressed among others by deputy country director of ILO Gunjon Dalakoti, freedom fighter Moksuder Rahman Sahan and senior instructor Amir Hossain. The speakers in their speeches emphasized for building social movement about technical education to eradicate the unemployment problem of the youths and to push forward the country towards desired development. DC Abdul Matin in his speeches underlined the need for providing technical education to the youths and training to youths for turning them into skilled workforces to accelerate the national development. Earlier, a number of youths also delivered their speeches highlighting the role and significance of the technical education during the age of globalization. A large number of people from all walks of life including unemployed youths participated in the fair spontaneously.
